Letter: Vote ‘Yes’ for District 197

To the editor:

Let’s support our schools with two “yes” votes on May 6.

For less than $5 per month for a $200,000 home, we can renew and increase our technology levy, alleviate crowding in our elementary schools by building an Early Learning Center and upgrade security at our schools.

All this, and our property taxes are still among the lowest in the region.

These needs are the product of two years of study by committees that included stakeholders across the district. As a member of the facilities committee, I can attest to the broad spectrum of voices at the table and to the needs of a growing district.

While much of our per-pupil funding comes from the state, school district residents fund our buildings and technology. With your help, we can invest in our schools, students and community.
